Rated AA 5-star, Longnor Wood Holiday Park is a select, friendly adult-only touring park in the ‘heart’ of the Peak District National Park. Open start February to start January.

Surrounded by rolling farmland and woodlands, with great views and scenic sunsets, Longnor Wood Holiday Park is very peaceful, yet convenient for the many trails, attractions and charming villages in the Peak District and Derbyshire. Great for star-gazing.

Sam and James offer a warm welcome and a long list of guest facilities for you to relax and unwind in the ‘heart’ of the Derbyshire Peak District.

Spacious hard-standing tent, caravan and motorhome pitches close to the 5-star amenity block. Choose a standard touring pitch with electric hook-up and TV connection or a fully serviced pitch with added individual water tap and grey water drain. Two well behaved dogs welcome free of charge on our tent and touring pitches. No extra charge for awnings. Fire pits and BBQs for hire.

Our heated 5-star amenities building houses free showers and WC’s with individual privacy cubicles. Guest reviews refer to the facilities as some of the cleanest and nicest they have found on a touring caravan park. Laundry with washer and drier. Under-cover washing up area with freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave, as well as a fresh coffee and hot drinks vending machine. Information room with board games and DVDs. EV charging point and free WiFi.

You can obtain local produce, essential grocery, caravan items and gas from our licensed shop or drive into Longnor village about a mile away. There you will find a general store, Post Office and a fish and chip shop. There are plenty of real ale pubs serving great food a short drive and Buxton and Bakewell are around 20-minute drive.

Longnor Wood Holiday Park is a dog-friendly caravan site with a 4-acre field with great views and spectacular sunsets for them to exercise in, on or off the lead.

Adults only Longnor Wood Holiday Park is ideal for walking the Derbyshire Peak District, off road cycle trails, river dales and the Peak District towns and villages. There’s also fishing and golf nearby.

Longnor village became famous from the TV series, ‘Peak Practice’, its cobbled square is the start of many scenic routes including the peaks of upper Dove Dale.

Close to this 5-star caravan park, the Tissington and High Peak trails are tracked cycle and hiking routes over open countryside with wonderful views from the bridges of the former railway. The Monsal Trail follows the River Wye from Buxton to Bakewell crossing deep valleys on high viaducts over Millers Dale and Monsal Dale.

Subterranean waters create spectacular underground caverns, at Poole’s Cavern near Buxton and Peak and Speedwell Caverns at Castleton, which is also famous for its Blue John mines.

Each of the Derbyshire Peak towns and villages has individual characters, Flash, a few miles from Longnor, is the highest village in the Peak National Park.

Buxton is 20-minutes’ drive; an elegant spa town, good for shopping and entertainment, whilst Bakewell is a quaint market town on the River Wye, again a 20-minute drive.

Further down the Dove valley is the resort town of Matlock Bath and the Heights of Abraham cable car.

Hadden Hall and Chatsworth House are within an easy hour’s drive.
