Frequently asked questions about the best campsites in Cornwall for couples
What makes an adults-only campsite better for couples in Cornwall?
At a family campsite, the atmosphere is shaped by everyone on site, which in peak season means a lot of noise and activity. An adults-only site means every guest has come for the same reason you have: to relax and enjoy Cornwall at their own pace. The difference in atmosphere is noticeable from the moment you arrive, and it’s why most couples who try an adults-only park don’t go back to family sites.
Are the Tranquil Parks Cornwall sites suitable for tents as well as caravans?
Most are primarily set up for touring caravans, motorhomes, and campervans. Cardinney is the most tent-friendly of the three. Trethem Mill offers some grass pitches with electric hookup for tents. Check individual park pages for their current pitch types.
Do the Cornwall parks accept dogs?
Trethem Mill has a three-acre dog walking meadow and is very dog friendly. Killiwerris is also dog friendly. Check the individual park page before booking if you’re travelling with a dog.
How far in advance should we book for a summer visit?
As early as possible. The Cornwall parks, particularly Trethem Mill, are popular and summer pitches can go several months in advance. For peak school holiday weeks in July and August, booking six months or more ahead is advisable. The shoulder seasons (May, June, and September) offer more flexibility.
Can we do Cornwall as a touring holiday, moving between parks?
Absolutely. Many couples spend a week or two touring between the parks, spending a few nights at each. All three parks are within about an hour’s drive of each other. Moving between them gives you a good range of the county, from the Roseland Peninsula in the east to the Land’s End peninsula in the far west.
