Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park – Nov & Dec 2016
Somerset’s Christmas Wonderland
When autumn evenings draw in, Somerset lights up.
The county’s amazing carnival season reaches its climax between 12 and 19 November when guests can view some of the largest of the carnival processions at:
• North Petherton 12th November
• Midsomer Norton 14th November
• Wells 18th November
• Glastonbury 19th November
Even before carnival is over, Christmas illuminations are switching on to attract shoppers and revellers into Christmas markets across North Somerset. First to switch-on is Bristol for the opening of its German Christmas Market:
• Bristol German Christmas Market 11 Nov – 24 Dec
• Bristol Broadmead Local Christmas Market- 2 Dec – 23rd Dec
• Bath Christmas Market 24th Nov – 11th Dec
• Wells Lions’ Reindeer Parade 4 Dec– 21 Dec
• Wells Christmas Market – 24 Dec
For Christmas atmosphere, Bath Christmas Market is rated the South West’s premier event. Over 170 wooden chalets are set around Abbey Square, offering beautiful gifts, seasonal foods and traditional treats. Bristol’s vibrant shopping malls and street markets are also beautifully decorated with the seasonal markets remaining open until Christmas Eve.
For those who would prefer to avoid the larger venues, Wells is the city with a small town, friendly atmosphere. Wells’ ancient marketplace is filled with traditional festive spirit in the shadow of Wells
Cathedral. Highlights are the Artesian Christmas Craft Market in the Bishops Palace 4 November, Wells Charter Fair 18 – 19 November, Wells Christmas Brocante Fair 11 December, Wells Christmas Market and the highly popular, delightful Wells Lions’ Reindeer Parade 4 December.
When you’ve enjoyed the Christmas markets, return to an all-weather touring pitch and 5-star heated facilities. Our Christmas illuminations will be switched on 24 November.
Choose from 10 traditional Somerset Inns serving fine food within 10 minutes of Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park, or stroll up the lane to our local Red Lion Inn for a seasonal meal in front of a homely log fire.
