Thinking about an autumn or winter break?

There’s so much to see and do on a low season break at our quality touring, camping and glamping parks exclusively for adults. Adult only touring parks tend to have a longer season than family-oriented ones, so many Tranquil Parks are ready to welcome you right up until Christmas and beyond, with some staying open all year.

If you like walking, cycling or birdwatching, autumn is one of the best times to go. It’s also a good time to try new walks and new activities too, as the summer months can be too hot and crowded.

City, country or seaside breaks can be wonderful in autumn. And when it comes to Christmas shopping, some Tranquil Parks are ideally placed for the famous Christmas markets and seasonal events.

Here’s information that some Tranquil Parks have contributed about, offers, places to go and events that make autumn and winter breaks at their so special. (In this article we are going from south to north.) See all special offers.

Walks from and events at Back of Beyond

With its location near the New Forest and South Coast, and with its extensive grounds, Back of Beyond Touring Camping & Glamping Park in Dorset offers numerous opportunities for walking. The team have recommended:

  • The Castleman Trailway, a disused railway line which links Ringwood to Poole. You can walk or cycle different sections of this trail and use it to access Moors Valley Country Park.
  • The New Forest is particularly stunning in the autumn and it’s the time when pigs are allowed to roam freely around to eat the acorns, a tradition known as ‘pannage’. You can find some great wildlife walks on the Visit the New Forest website.

Band nights – the team have added some more band nights taking place at Monty’s Bar over the coming month with local singer Peter Burns performing ‘Rat Pack’ and ‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas’. All dates can be found on the park’s websitethe park’s website.

Quiz nights – the ‘Big fat quiz of the month’ is now taking place on the last Sunday of the month at Monty’s Bar. The night is compered by one of the park’s new wardens, Nathan.
