May and early summer 2024 availability and events update
Here’s an update on availability for the upcoming May bank holidays. We’re also showing availability for some fun and interesting events that are taking place at the parks or nearby in the coming months. We hope this gives you some inspiration for some wonderful breaks at Tranquil Parks this spring, summer and beyond.
Please note that the information was correct at the time of writing, but may already have changed. We have listed the parks from South to North. Top photo shows the pool at Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park in May.
Back of Beyond Touring Camping and Glamping Park, Dorset
- Early May Bank Holiday – 2 glamping pods and the yurt, plus non-electric camping.
- Late May Bank Holiday – 1 pod and non-electric camping.

Greenacres Touring Park, Wellington Somerset
Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park
Spring is a special time at Bath Chew Valley. Shown here is the park’s delightful Cedar Lodge, which is fully equipped for adult couples looking for a peaceful break in the beautiful Somerset countryside. Set alongside Bath Chew Valley’s woodland, the lodge’s barbecue deck and veranda overlook manicured lawns.

Briarfields Motel and Touring Park
Conveniently located 2 miles outside of Regency Cheltenham on an excellent bus route, Briarfields makes a great base for the many festivals in Cheltenham and Historic Gloucester. The beautiful grounds make it an ideal place to relax after a busy day.

South Wales Touring Park near Llanelli

Somers Wood Caravan Park, Warwickshire
Red Kite Touring Park, Powys, Mid Wales
There was still availability for both May bank holidays at Red Kite Touring Park at the time of publishing this update. They also had availability for its onsite May BBQ, which takes place on Saturday 18th. You can walk to the local town of Llanidloes from this expansive, dog friendly park, or make the most of the walks, fishing and dogs’ swimming pool and field on site.

Eye Kettleby Lakes, near Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire
Brookside Country Park, near Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire
The park’s local pub is hosting the Burton upon Stather Beer Festival from 26 to 28 May. It’s about a 1 minute walk to the The Ferry House Inn, located at an historic ferry point on the River Trent.
Another pub a short walk away is the Sheffield Arms, which now offers a fresh carvery Wednesday to Sunday.
