Adjacent to this beautiful, family run park is a golf centre. It’s only a short walk over to the welcoming clubhouse for breakfast, lunch, coffee or snacks. Dogs are welcome too. You can also walk to the local village, Meriden, as well as coarse fishing lakes which are also adjacent.
The Birmingham National Exhibition Centre (NEC) is only 5 minutes’ drive from Somers Wood. Major destinations in the area include Birmingham, Coventry, Warwick, Royal Leamington Spa and Stratford-upon-Avon.

Fields End Water Caravan Park, Lodges & Fishery in Cambridgeshire, renowned for its coarse fishing lakes, is offering free fishing next autumn to anyone who makes a booking before the end of February 2026 for a stay after 15 September 2026. All you need to do is put in the notes of the booking “Free Autumn Fishing Please.” (This park is open from 1 March to 30 November.)
The Autumn and Winter Saver at Waterrow Touring Park in Somerset continues from 2 January to 12 March. You can get at least one free night on stays of 4 nights or more. If you stay for 5 nights or more over the festive period, you will receive a 10% discount on bookings during 2026! Back of Beyond Touring Camping & Glamping Park near the New Forest in East Dorset has just completed their Arctic cabin, ‘The Hideaway’. It’s a new social space with an indoor firepit, tucked away in a peaceful woodland spot. Guests can hire the space to spend a day or evening celebrating, relaxing or catching up with friends – suitable for up to 6 people and 3 dogs.
South Wales Touring Park (top left) now has a new payment plan that allows you to pay for your stay in monthly installments. Pay a 25% deposit to secure the booking and you can spread the remainder over several months with the payment plan. Find out more.
Two Hoots Glamping, Caravan Park and Campsite (top right) is changing its name to Hampshire Hills –it’s easy to see why from the photo (top right). Next season, Hoseasons will become their exclusive bookings partner for all the park’s self-contained glamping units (including a new safari tent due shortly). This means Hoseasons will handle all the marketing for the units and handle the bookings, starting from when they open for the 2026 season – 26 March 2026. Through this agreement, Hampshire Hills / Two Hoots will fall under their ‘Bouja’ brand, which stands for ‘Luxury Boutique Breaks’.
Hungry Chef has been cooking up a storm at Cartref Caravan & Camping Site near Shrewsbury (bottom row) and it has been going down a treat with guests. One seasonal said: “The most amazing food – what an asset to Cartref Caravan and Camping Site we have tried the fish & chips – chicken Tikka pie – Mackerel pate & salmon & avocado starters & they were all superb ! We are very much looking forward to trying all the menu ! A special mention for the chips!”
As usual, park teams are taking advantage of the quieter months to get on with park upgrades. Fields End Water Caravan Park, Lodges & Fishery will be adding drop-down sides to the outdoor bar which opened earlier this year (left side). Heaters are also going in for the cooler evenings.
The team at Back of Beyond Touring Camping & Glamping Park are setting up 2 new ensuite shepherd huts and installing fibre optic cabling to improve the internet speed on site. The team are also upgrading some of the pitches in the Damson area of the park from non-electric to fully serviced.
Although there are no major projects this winter at Yr Helyg / The Willows in North Wales (right), the team are finishing off some finer details, along with maintenance. It may not sound very glamorous, but an important upgrade is installing new toilet systems!

Hywel and Eleri, owners of Yr Helyg / The Willows near Abersoch in North Wales, would like to say a special thank you to all their valued guests for their good wishes, concern and gifts following the arrival of their first granddaughter, Cari, last August. She suffered a few problems at birth, but will soon be coming to the end of her trips to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and making a complete recovery in the very near future. The whole family wishes everyone a very Happy Christmas and New Year, and look forward to seeing new and returning guests in 2026.
