Welcome to our newest Tranquil Park

We’re delighted to welcome Dulas Meadow / Dôl Dulas to Tranquil Parks. This peaceful boutique retreat sits in the beautiful countryside of north Anglesey, where the emphasis is firmly on camping rather than touring.

For owners Alison and Gregg, opening the park has fulfilled a lifelong dream. Both spent their childhood holidays camping and caravanning on Anglesey before returning with their four sons for family holidays of their own. Although creating the park brought its share of challenges, they have transformed their vision into a beautiful place to stay.

Discover the story behind Dulas Meadow, meet owners Alison and Gregg, and find out why this peaceful Anglesey retreat makes a great addition to Tranquil Parks – read the full story.

If you’re travelling by motorhome, you’ll find hardstanding pitches available. Please note that local planning conditions do not permit touring caravans because of the combined length of the towing vehicle and caravan using the access lane.

Supporting good causes

The gorgeous posies are back at Green Acres Caravan Park, Cumbria. You can brighten up your caravan or motorhome with a beautiful arrangement lovingly grown and picked by the team to support an important cause, which this year is Brain Tumour Research.

Cartref Caravan and Camping Site in Shropshire thank everyone who helped raise £334 at their Macmillan Coffee Morning. Generous donations of cakes and money came from friends, the park team and guests. This was followed by a wonderful evening of live music in the onsite bar, ‘Bartref’.

Shortly after last month’s newsletter went to press, Somers Wood Caravan Park welcomed participants in the Lewis Moody XV Cycle Challenge as they made their way to Twickenham.

The challenge brings together former rugby players, friends and family to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease charities. Lewis Moody, who enjoyed a distinguished career with Leicester Tigers, Bath Rugby and England, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease last year and is now helping to raise funds and awareness through this inspiring challenge.

If you’d like to support Lewis and the charities involved, please visit the Lewis Moody XV Cycle Challenge website.

Could you spend 15 minutes helping with butterfly conservation? The Big Butterfly Count 2026 started on 17 July and runs until 9 August. To take park, download the handy butterfly ID chart or the free app to identify and record the butterflies you spot, then add your counts to the website.

Cooling down our hot dogs

Warm summer days are perfect for getting outdoors, but heatstroke is a real danger for dogs. From purpose-built doggie swimming pools (such as the one at Red Kite shown here) to rivers bordering parks or even a shower, many of our member parks have been helping their four-legged guests to stay cool and comfortable during the hot weather.

Somers Wood Caravan Park (left photo) and Fields End Water Caravan Park, Lodges & Fishery, Cambridgeshire, have introduced dog paddling pools where your canine companion can cool off after a walk. Fields End Water has also recently opened a new dog shower alongside its agility area, making it easy to freshen up before heading back to your pitch.

Moments that made us smile

The sun shone down on South Wales Touring Park, as the park team and guests celebrated its. 50th anniversary with a barbecue and live music. Everyone  had a fantastic evenin and the park team thank everyone who joined the celebrations. Here’s to 50 more years and this fabulous location!

There have been some wonderful wildlife sightings at or near Back of Beyond Touring Camping & Glamping Park near Ringwood in Dorset. This magnificent roe deer was recently spotted and  it’s always a pleasure to see the swans return each year to raise their cygnets on the park’s wildlife lakes.

At Old Oaks Touring & Glamping Park, Somerset two relaxed cows were spotted keeping cool and enjoying each other’s company with Glastonbury Tor as a backdrop. Meanwhile, over at the park’s fishing pond, a cheeky robin thought he had found a delicious buffet!

A guest at Red Kite Touring Park, Powys, captured two stunning birds of prey—a red kite and a buzzard—during their stay. The park has also shared a beautiful drone photograph showcasing the surrounding countryside from above.

The resident woodpecker at Somers Wood Caravan Park, which has taken a liking to the bird feeder is a big hit with guests. The park has been looking gorgeous in the summer sunshine.

One of the smallest visitors to Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park this month was the tiny KEI-VAN727. At just 3.4 metres longt and 1.5 metres wide, , it may look tiny on this spacious pitch, but this cleverly designed camper can sleep up to four adults!

The popularity of these Japanese vans is growing thanks to theor left-hand drive, affordable running costs and ability to navigate small spaces. The chasis, drivetrain and overall architeture is based on a Kei truck platform (short for Japanese keijidōsha which means light vehicle. Proof that big adventures can come in small packages!

Whether you’re planning a summer escape, looking for a last-minute pitch or simply gathering ideas for your next adventure, we hope this month’s news has inspired you. We look forward to welcoming you to a Tranquil Park soon.
